
The concept
Icommerce was founded in Paris in 1995. At the time,
independent distribution of IT products was unknown in France as well as
other parts of Europe. The Icommerce idea was to sell global networking and
server options to French distribution channels - "Buy Global, Sell Local" -
in order for our customers to benefit from price advantages and
availability differences between different countries and rebate programs.
Our initial concept is still the basis of our business
model today. We don't sell to end-users, we do wholesale only. We have
however enlarged our product portfolio to cover almost all aspects of
networking as well as including servers, options and storage from several high
quality vendors.
Building our reputation
Icommerce is a privately owned and fully independent
company with solid financial backing. We have worked hard to build the
quality and reliability of our business and have for years been awarded the
AAA rating by Dun & Bradstreet and a solid rating by "La Banque de France".
Expanding across Europe
Icommerce's central administration and warehouse is
geographically well located in the outskirts of Paris,
France, close to one of Europe's busiest airports,
Roissy CDG, with its excellent logistics and
transport facilities.
As our business has grown, we have also established local
branch offices in Reading (GB), Milan (IT),
Munich (D) , Odense (DK). Madrid (SP),
and recently in Warsaw (P). We will continue expanding our presence to cover
all major markets in Europe and ensure closeness to our customers, understanding their business
needs, language and local preferences.
Continuous improvement
In 2002, Icommerce set up a testing and repair centre to
meet the growing demand for reliable refurbished solutions expressed by our
customers. Today, the buying, testing, selling and repairing of quality
refurbished products is an integral part of our business.
Financial Solutions are the latest step in providing our
customers with a better service. Icommerce offers the best credit terms
available in the business, including credit card facilities, short-term and
long-term credit arrangements, and rental and leasing solutions.
In Autumn 2003, Icommerce launched the most
sophisticated extranet in the industry. We believe the IT environment is so
competitive that a simple web shop cannot provide our customers with the
prices and conditions they need. We have therefore decided to give selected
customers wider access to valuable and personalised information. We can
help you personalise your customer profile and email settings so you can
quickly access information about your account and orders and ensure you
